The Australia UAE Business Council is delighted to announce the appointment of His Excellency Hareb Al Mheiri as Co-Chair for the United Arab Emirates, succeeding His Excellency Badr Al Olama.
Since the Council’s establishment in 2020, His Excellency Badr has played a pivotal role in shaping its presence in both nations. The Council extends its deep gratitude for his leadership and looks forward to continued engagement with him in his capacity as Director General of the Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO).
His Excellency Hareb Al Mheiri currently serves as Executive Director of Investor Growth at ADIO, where he leads strategic efforts to attract and retain investors and talent in support of Abu Dhabi’s Falcon Economy. He also serves as Executive Director of the Abu Dhabi Residents Office and is Secretariat of the Tourism Development Programme.
To formally welcome His Excellency Hareb, the Australian Ambassador to the UAE, His Excellency Ridwaan Jadwat, hosted a reception at his Residence in Abu Dhabi on Saturday 20 September 2025. The event, held in collaboration with Maysaffron, brought together UAE-based members of the Council alongside representatives of government and industry.
Australia UAE Business Council Executive Director, Mr Aaron Waters-Marsh, said: “We are honoured to welcome His Excellency Hareb Al Mheiri as our new Co-Chair. His wealth of experience in investment, economic development, and tourism will be invaluable as the Council continues to grow and strengthen bilateral business ties. With His Excellency Hareb’s leadership, the Council looks forward to building on its work to deepen commercial and strategic collaboration across priority sectors, and to celebrating the milestone 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Australia and the UAE in 2025.
