The Australia UAE Business Council are pleased to announce that Her Excellency Ms Heidi Venamore PSM, Australian Ambassador to the UAE, has been appointed to the Business Council’s Advisory Board.
The Business Council’s Co-Chairs, the Hon Christopher Pyne and HE Badr Al Olama, welcomed Ms Venamore’s appointment at the recent meeting of the Advisory Board which was convened on 21 March 2023.
“Ms Venamore brings more than thirty years’ experience in foreign policy, with a strong focus on the Middle East region,” said Mr Pyne.
“It is a significant benefit for the Business Council to have both Australia and the UAE’s respective Ambassadors on our Advisory Board,” he added.
“Ms Venamore has a deep understanding of trade and investment in the region, and has shown ongoing support of the Business Council since its establishment in 2020,” said H.E. Badr Al Olama. “I am most delighted to welcome Ms Venamore as a member of the Advisory Board”.
Prior to her appointment as Ambassador, Ms Venamore was based in Canberra and led the Counter Terrorism Branch of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
Her previous overseas appointments include Australian Ambassador to Jordan, Head of Policy, Australian High Commission, London, and Deputy Head of Mission to Iraq.
Ms Venamore joins the Advisory Board’s current members which include His Excellency Abdulla Al Subousi, UAE Ambassador to Australia; Ms Ellecia Saffron, Managing Director of Maysaffron; Mr Jamie Levy, Senior Advisor at the Abu Dhabi Investment Office; and Mr David Ruff, CEO of Babcock Australasia.
The Business Council is the premier business networking organisation dedicated to deepening bilateral trade and investment, expanding opportunities for Australian and Emirati businesses and strengthening ties between Australia and the UAE.
